From the Royal Cornwall Gazette, Saturday 19th February 1870, page 4.
St. George, Truro.—We are glad to see another very handsome and richly stained window, that has just been erected by Mr. Clyma, in this church, to the memory of the late Miss Ellen Williams, who was a constant and faithful member of the church. It represents the following most appropriate subjects, viz., Faith, Hope, and Charity, in one light, and a group of Angels, in the other, with the text “We praise Thee O God,” on a scroll. On light clear glass in English, in very plain letters, and easily legible, at the bottom of the two lights is the following inscription: “In memory of Ellen, daughter of Thomas and Susan Williams, who died June 26th, 1869, aged 20. Erected by surviving members of the church choir, and her family.” This much admired window has been executed by Messrs. Horwood, of Frome, being the third supplied by these well known talented artists for this church.
