From Cornwall Record Office ref. P97/2/29.
Dear Mr. Coode,
I am herewith enclosing tracing on linen of original design, which will serve for Faculty purposes.
If it is the wish of Miss Daubuz that other Saints should be substituted, these alterations can be made upon the cartoons. I think however, in the necessarily limited treatment of the subject of “The Church Triumphant” it would be very much better, and more satisfactory generally if typical Saints were represented, rather than placing present people that we know in our own generation in the window. But whatever Saints are decided upon to take the place of those suggested, there will be no difficulty in arranging the exact position, if the window is commenced.
Of course I do not wish to interfere in the smallest degree with Miss Daubuz’s wishes in the matter, if it is her wish that the people named by Canon Mills should take the place of the Saints indicated.
I am therefore returning sketch plan before the work is actually put in hand.
With kind regards.
I am yours sincerely,
Geo: H. Fellowes Prynne
P.S. I have been laid up and confined to the house for over 3 weeks, and should have written before. To me it would seem a pity to convert this East Window into a sort of Record of local or Diocesan or historical kind. The subject “The Church Triumphant” is too great a subject, for the introduction of local friends. The Saints should surely be representative
