From Cornwall Record Office ref. P97/2/29.
Dear Miss Daubuz,
Many thanks for your letter received this morning. It was a pleasure to me to hear from you after so many years, and it brought back many memories in connection with the Church, and the warm & keen interest that you and your brother took in every detail of the work; and also of the many visits to Killiow after the completion of the Church.
I need hardly say that I shall be delighted to be connected in any way with a memorial to the members of your family, and especially to your brother, who I knew so well.
With regard to the subject, this must of course be exactly what you wish, “the Ascension”, if you especially desire it; but for certain reasons “the Resurrection” of Our Lord might be better suited to the window, being as it is immediately over the Altar Table & illustrating the words “I am the Resurrection and the Life Whosoever believeth in me although he were dead yet shall he live,” as being helpful and comforting to those who mourn for those temporarily removed from our sight;–and from an artistic point of view, this subject can be treated in glass with much better decorative effect. Kindly let me know what you wish and the design shall at once be proceeded with.
With kindest remembrances,
I am yours sincerely
